ACCESSIBILITY & ADAPTATION

Creating accessible kitchens that enable independent living

The kitchen is the heart of the home, which is why ensuring full access to a functional kitchen is absolutely essential. We have vast experience designing and installing innovative and accessible kitchens. Our high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail mean that we can tailor every kitchen to precise requirements. All this is key to enhancing the quality of life for customers, so they can continue enjoying their home independently and without compromise.

During our initial consultation, we work closely with you to understand your needs and recommend adaptations that will truly make the space a dream kitchen. Some of the many adaptations we offer include:

  • Making the entire area wheelchair accessible.
  • Choosing wheelchair-accessible cabinets and worktops: We can update cabinets and worktops to heights that suit your requirements.
  • Lowering the sink, hob and storage cupboards.
  • Fitting sinks with shallow basins to make it easier to reach items at the bottom.
  • Installing disabled-friendly taps: Pull-out taps provide more flexibility as they can be easily directed where needed. Single-lever or touch-sensitive taps are also great for anyone who finds it difficult to turn a tap handle.
  • Rounding corners and edges to prevent injuries.
  • Optimising your kitchen layout: The three main elements of your kitchen – the hob, sink and refrigerator – should be placed close enough to each other so they are easily accessible.

Our friendly team of experts will take care of everything, from consultation to installation, ensuring the entire process is smooth, hassle-free and enjoyable. To find out more about what Arrow Developments can do for you, please call us on 01422 553101.

“They completed a job in an exceptionally tight timeframe of 3 weeks as the client had to go into respite care whilst the works took place. It was a tough ask to complete the amount of work in such a short time. Still, Arrow persevered so the client could return home as quickly as possible within the initial 3-week time frame.”
