Accessible Bathrooms and Wet Rooms

ACCESSIBILITY & ADAPTATION

Specialists in disabled shower rooms and bathing facilities

At Arrow Developments, we understand the smallest change can often make a huge difference in improving people’s lives. We have removed awkward steps, widened doorways and converted bathrooms into wet rooms with easy-access showers. Gone are the days when accessible bathrooms had a reputation for appearing clinical and unattractive. Modern wet rooms can now look as though they belong in a five-star hotel.

 Common bathroom adaptations include:

  • Hand rails and grab bars: Installing rails and bars offer much-needed support.
  • Sinks and worktops: Placing sinks and worktops at a height that suits wheelchair users enables them to live independently.
  • Walk-in baths and showers: Most baths and showers can be replaced by a new walk-in one with minimum alteration.
  • Shower seats: Some shower seats can be folded against the wall when not in use.
    Taller toilets.
  • Bidet-style toilets: There are some truly impressive toilets boasting features that enable independent living, such as bidet, drying and remote-controlled functions.
  • Wet rooms: Making sure a wet room is watertight requires specialist materials and skills. Our expert installers have completed many wet rooms over the years for both private and public clients.
  • Lowered storage.
  • Sliding chairs or transfer benches.

We currently provide our services to Care and Repair, an agency that works with Leeds City Council to facilitate adaptations. As we have installed hundreds of adapted bathrooms over the years, our expertise allows us to offer a service that is second to none. “They completed a job in an exceptionally tight timeframe of 3 weeks as the client had to go into respite care whilst the works took place. It was a tough ask to complete the amount of work in such a short time. Still, Arrow persevered so the client could return home as quickly as possible within the initial 3-week time frame.”
